As a solicitor who has drafted many wil...Nice blog. As a solicitor who has drafted many will aid wills it is disappointing to see will aid belittle what I do. You might think that the chance of developing a relationship with the new client or the satisfaction of doing pro bono work for a person who could not otherwise afford your services would be enough<br /> However many of the clients that use the scheme have very good jobs and are in professions that are aware of will aid and seem to me to take advantage. I have done pro bono work for cancer charities where the client has no money at all and is simply concerned to appoint a guardian for her young children to give her peace of mind before passing. That to me is what will aid should be for. It seems that if solicitors no longer have a monopoly on legal services we should not feel compelled to work for free. No other profession that I can think of has the same weight of expectation hanging over them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
